Question: Can I set up wireless network using equipments from different manufacturers?

Yes! The wireless equipments (wireless router, access point, wireless adapter, etc) are manufactured as according to IEEE’s 802.11x standard, so they will work with each others. However there are manufacturers claim that the network works the best if you use all their equipments, sometimes I feel that it might just a marketing strategy.

Please note you can also use wireless equipments with 802.11b and 802.11g standard together since they use the same radio frequency (2.4GHz).
