So far looks very promissing DayaS July 13, 2015
my 3 year old HP laptop (g6-2111us) always had wifi issues and i recently decided to get this TP-Link Wifi USB adapter.
my laptop is running Windows 10 Pro Insider Preview build 10162 and this wifi adapter is working very smoothly.
device itself is very tiny and nicely fits into one of available usb slots. i did not found any issue in removing it and attaching to a different USB port.
i hope this device lives to my expectation and provides an smooth wifi usage experience on my old laptop.

Worked perfectly with Windows 8.1 and 10 and seems durably built. Packaging was easy to open.
I was literally browsing the internet 15 seconds after plugging it in. All drivers must have installed instantly.
I don't think the description mentioned this, but there's a small green surface mount LED inside the black casing of this item which blinks when internet is accessed. See photo.
Great, Fast, A Bit Snug Lisa Shea July 18, 2013
We had a really odd set of circumstances while testing our TP-Link wireless adapter. We got the adapter to test right as we also got a TP-Link router to test. We figured these two should work perfectly together. So we set them up, and I was testing the adapter in my Dell Vostro 1500 laptop which runs Vista. But performance was sluggy and spotty, even just in the next room. We tried all sorts of things, with no great improvement.
Then we started testing out a D-Link N900 router - and WOW - the TP-Link adapter just screamed. It was absolutely perfect. It's definitely the reason we test our adapters out in a variety of situations, just in case something like this goes on. But who would have thought that TP-Link would do better on a competitor's router?
The unit is extremely easy to set up and, when paired with the right router, works like a charm. Fast speeds, no problems at all.
Intriguingly, the only issue at all we have to report with it is the setup of the plastic nub on its end. It mounts too tightly with the laptop case, and can be a royal pain to get out again. It's so small that there's no real way to "grab" at it - you nearly have to get out your needle nose pliers to get the thing loose. Sure, you don't want to lose the unit or to have it three inches long so it catches on everything. Still, there should be some middle ground in there too. It shouldn't become leech-like attached to the unit and require a surgical team to detach it again.
So, with that caveat, well recommended.
Minus the speed being slower than advertised works great and was cheap For me this is a non ... Joey April 18, 2016
3 stars because the speed advertised is not real world performance. If you care about speed don't use wifi. This Wifi adapter is installed on a PC that is used strictly for itunes and speed is not important. However there advertised speeds are not correct. If i run the Ookla speed test app on my android phone I get 156 download speeds. When running the Ookla speedtest from the PC im limited to anywhere from 25-50mbs download.
Minus the speed being slower than advertised works great and was cheap
For me this is a non issue but if you need speeds at over 100+mbs this is not the device for you.

Pros: Particularly valuable is the legacy support for WinXP and up to Win 10
If you have an old dog that must stay on XP (legacy apps etc) and you have to ***gasp*** continue to support it, this little baby will get you network connection going w/o a hitch
Cons: The interface program is a bit kludgy but if you install drivers only (standard install option) it works flawlessly.
Summary: Its simple and it just works.beautifully with no fuss, great for DIY, technician support & quick connectivity issues
