Question: What is Power over Ethernet (PoE)?
Power over Ethernet (PoE) is the technology that you can use to transmit electrical power together with data to network devices (IP telephone, network camera, wireless access point, etc) over existing Ethernet cables, so you don’t need separate power supply to the PoE supported network devices.
It’s convenient to implement PoE when there is no power supply near to the network device and also it would decrease the installation cost most of the time. You can check more PoE information on this Power over Ethernet website.
