Don't buy this if you have Vista J. Bailey "Jay" August 5, 2007
Wow, I'm taken aback as to how poor this product is, and how poor Linksys tech support is. I had multiple problems with this device. The good news is that when it works, the signal is strong (with a Linksys WRT300N router) and fast (270mbps). However, the PC won't even BOOT with this device plugged in. Once you turn the machine off, the only way to get it to boot is to unplug the WUSB300N. Linksys tech support's only suggestion was to reinstall the driver, which I did several times. No luck. In addition, if the PC goes into sleep mode, when it wakes up, the WUSB300N does not wake up. Only recourse is to unplug and replug it in. The tech support was absolutely horrible. Don't buy this thing unless you have several hours to waste for no reason or benefit.

I bought ANOTHER one of these after Linksys told me mine was defective. Gues what? I tested the new one on 3 different machines (2 desktops, 1 laptop) and ALL of them did the exact same thing. 1) They wouldn't boot with this adapter plugged in, 2) When the PC goes to sleep mode the adapter goes to sleep FOREVER (the only way to recover is to reboot), and 3) if you play music or movies, this adapter causes the playback to stutter for several seconds each minute. These issues are posted all over Linksys' forums, but tech support denies any of them exist, and actually suggested that I had purchased TWO separate defective units. Yeah right.

I got this with my new linksys wireless-n router and this little thing works great. In a part of the house where I barely got a signal from my old dlink w-g router I know get a 70-80% strong signal with speeds between 250-350mbps!

I highly recommend this adapter to anyone. That stand, although it comes with the adapter, is not needed. The retail comes with an extra ~1ft long usb extension cord.

Remember: All Linksys wireless-n adapters and routers are backwards compatible to w-b/g.

I hope this helped anyone. The price may seem high but for the speed and reliability you get, you'd wonder why you didn't hear/get it sooner.

I have had three different USB network adapter in the last one year. Linksys WUSB300N Wireless-N USB Network Adapter is the most stable and fastest one.

Prior to this one, I had a similar product from Belkins. Everytime I restarted my machine, somehow the device couldn't start by itself and I often had to unplug it and plug it back in to get it recognized. With Linksys WUSB300N, nothing like that happens. As soon as the computer starts, the device starts to work correctly.

For additional information, I use Netgear WNR854T RangeMax NEXT Wireless Router Gigabit Edition as my router, and Linksys WUSB300N works perfectly fine.

I bought the WUSB300N for an XP-32-bit notebook but first decided to test it on my Vista-64-bit desktop, but I couldn't locate a driver, either included or at Linksys site. This irritated me because I didn't see any 64-bit restrictions listed on the box or marketing material from Linksys. I then tried testing on an XP-32 bit system. Linksys seems desperate for us to run their monitor, so I followed their instructions and installed it first, before connecting the adapter. Their monitor runs in a small window which could not be maximized and had a number of other user interface deficiencies, at this point I forget them all, but I was turned off enough to remove their monitor, which unfortunately also removed the driver. I also was concerned because I couldn't see any means of keeping the monitor current (with software updates). I then connected the adapter and let XP install the driver from the Linksys CD. That worked fine and the adapter then functioned flawlessly using "G" on the desktop, and then on the notebook. I haven't tried "N". I am leaving the low rating because of Linksys's dishonesty in not mentioning their lack of support for 64-bit systems, and their lousy monitor, which they really try to push on you. (I wonder why?)

I see some folks mentioned that they can't play World of Warcraft (WoW) with this adapter. I'm playing WoW with this at a great speed.

Things to try if you have trouble: Download the newest drivers. The ones in the box are old (at least the CD i got was a few versions old). Try changing the Radio Band to Normal. Try different Channels (like 11). Stop & Disable the "Wireless Zero Configuration" in the "Adminstrative Tools -> Services ..." section. There other things to try on various forums if you search around.

I have the Linksys 330N Gaming Router and things work great for me playing Warcraft.
